The Avalanche Joseki is famous among Go players for being ridiculously difficult, but luckily for us, Alpha Go doesn't really like it all that much. Let's learn the simple variations today we can use in our games.

The 5-4 point isn't honestly seen all that much in modern Go, but you should at least be familiar with it. It's played when the corner is not really your main concern.

This is a very simple standard sequence that I highly recommend memorizing. This is Black responding to White's one space high approach by playing the Keima.

This sequence easily becomes one of the most complicated standard sequences in all of Go. Fortunately for us, we won't be doing any of that. This sequence can actually be quite simple, and Alpha Go even likes the simple variations.
